This Year's Model Updates:

To celebrate 20 years of building minivans, Dodge will offer an Anniversary Edition package for the Grand Caravan with such features as chrome wheels, two-tone leather upholstery, embroidered floor mats and an in-dash CD/DVD changer paired with a rear entertainment system. Additionally, the company has simplified the trim level structure this year, so that buyers need only choose a base SE, a midlevel EX or a top-of-the-line SXT. The Grand Caravan also gets a tire-pressure monitor, upgraded audio systems and a new integrated key/remote.

Pros:
  • Excellent ride and handling characteristics, good low-end pull from 3.8-liter V6, roomy cabin, comfortable seats.
Cons:
  • No fold-flat third-row seat, unimpressive reliability history, subpar frontal offset crash test score, low resale value.

  • Extremely Pleased - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

We bought our van because we were left raising two of my grandchildren and they wanted a van. ITS BEEN THE BEST THING WE COULD HAVE DONE!!! The girls really enjoy it and weve made several long distance trips (16,000 miles or more) in the time weve had it, with no trouble. Youre right - its extremely comfortable to drive and ride in. In fact my son, who has a Honda Odyssy, says hes buying a Dodge Grand Caravan the next time they buy. (Ive riden in his van, and its noisy, small and uncomfortable.) Our ride is also very quiet - something that most comment on when they ride with us. A VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER

I currently have a 2004 model. This is my second Dodge Caravan. The first was a 1999 which performed very well. When I traded it in on the current one it had 69000 miles. The only problem I had with it was the emergency brake unit which had to be replaced at around 20000 miles, it was covered by the warrenty. The main reason I traded was the great financial deals they were offering at the time. I did upgrade to a larger V6 engine. There is a big difference in performance. I also added the power sliding doors, great.

Love it! So smooth to drive and comfortable to sit in. The looks are so suprising for a minivan. DVD keeps my 2 year old quiet when normally she is a handful. It keeps amazing you with more & more features. My wife says I feel like a rich person now

This is a great family car and is much less than a Honda which is what we have bought for years. I was shooked when we drove both and chose this one. Honda does not have anything on this car for the cost.

Nice driving feel, very responsive. The ease of entry into vehicle is a plus and the vehicle is very rooming for having 4 teenagers and 1 other child in the family.

  • Top Mini-van? - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

Anniversary Edition should come complete with ALL the toys. Isnt that why its a special edition. Lacking is the enhanced overhead features like optional horn beep to lock doors, daytime light on/off etc.,load leveling feature, I think the ES has all these other bells/whistles that would make the SXT Anniversary Edition a true Special Edt.

This is my 1st GC but 3rd Chrysler van. Previously owned 2 G Voyagers. They just keep getting better. None of the vans ever gave me trouble. This one is loaded -AWD, all leather, infrared heating system, infiniti sound system. Looked at SUVs but other than a big Suburban no one can give you the space, versatility, & room w/o paying the price for gas. It is very comfortable & much more quieter than previous vans. Who could refuse the rebates?
